Comparing Apples to Pears

day330 in 30 challenge, day 3

Today it was all about comparing. As I was mixing color I kept asking myself is it warmer, cooler, lighter, darker, brighter, duller than another color note I have already laid down. This is the mantra I learned and can be heard in classes and workshops taught by artist and author, Susan Sarback. If you have the chance to take a workshop at the School of Light and Color, you too will no longer look at a red apple as a red apple. Your preconceptions will be erased from your memory of what an apple should look like, and you will learn to just paint the colors that you see.

The 30 in 30 challenge continues over the weekend, yikes!
